Service and Fellowship
There are many opportunities to serve at Good Shepherd:
Greeters - Families and single members volunteer to greet members and visitors on Sunday mornings as they enter the narthex. No experience needed, only a warm and friendly voice are required.
Lay Readers - Being a lay reader is a great way to participate in the Sunday morning service. Lay readers are volunteers who once every 6 weeks read the Old Testament and New Testament during the church service.
Ushers - If you enjoy participating in the worship service the ushers can always use a helping hand. Men, women and even some of our younger members help with the offering, communion, and handing out the morning bulletins. Each team ushers once a month for the Sunday service and occassionally for special services as needed.
Sunday Morning Coffee - Do you enjoy coffee in the mornings? Our coffee volunteers take 1 month a year to make, serve, and clean up after the Sunday morning service. This is a great way to have your morning coffee as well as greet friends and meet visitors.
Tuesday Quilters - Do you like to sew? Then Tuesday Quilters invite you to join them every Tuesday morning at 9:30 am in the Parish Hall where they sew, quilt, and enjoy meeting together to make lap robes for those who are sick or in nursing homes. They have also made special quilts for the 50th anniversary of both the church and the school.
Tuesday Men - Do you enjoy working in the garden or yard, or puttering around the house fixing things? Then our Tuesday Men invite you to join them every Tuesday morning at 7:30 am to help work around the facilities to help keep the gardens green and everything in good repair.
Prayer Partners On Line - all you need is a computer to receive emails of prayer requests an a few minutes each day to spend in prayer. To become a Prayer Partner please contact Gayle Roberts at www.cowgirlupte72@msn.com.
